From working class neighbourhood to multi-cultural district
Over the last few decades, Nørrebro (AKA Copenhagen N) has progressed from being a classic working class neighbourhood to one of Copenhagen’s hottest districts, making Vesterbro struggle to retain its title as the hippest part of town. The area retains its more edgy aspects, continuing to be diverse and colourful, as well as multiculturally diverse.
The area is home to trendy bars and fashionable designer shops, neighbouring with traditional pubs and small kebab shops. Assistens Kirkegården, which is almost Harboekollegiet’s neighbour, is where you can visit the graves of famous Danes, including HC Andersen and philosopher Søren Kierkegaard. You can also sit out in the green areas with a picnic basket.
